Journal of Geographical Systems, a journal dedicated to geographical information, analysis, theory, and decision making, aims to encourage and promote high quality scholarship on important theoretical and practical issues in regional science, geography, the environmental sciences, and planning. One of the distinctive features of the journal is its concern for the interface between mathematical modeling, geographical information sciences, and regional issues. The journal encourages interdisciplinary communication and research, especially on the themes of spatial analysis, spatial theory and spatial decision systems. JGA is a high-quality journal devoted to publishing important new results at the interface of analysis, geometry and partial differential equations. Founded in 1990, by its current Editor-in-Chief, Steven G. Krantz, the journal has maintained standards of innovation and excellence. JGA accepts papers in English, French, and German and has a strong international flavor.

The Journal of Global Optimization publishes carefully refereed papers that deal with all theoretical, computational, and applied aspects of global optimization. Original research articles explore optimization in the widest sense, including nonlinear, stochastic and combinatorial programming, multi-objective programming, control, games, geometry, approximation, and algorithms for parallel architectures. In addition to papers covering theory and algorithms of global optimization, the journal publishes important papers on numerical experiments and applications in engineering, management, and the sciences. The Journal of Grid Computing explores an emerging technology that enables large-scale resource sharing problem solving within distributed, loosely coordinated groups sometimes termed 'virtual organizations'. Coverage includes protocols, security, scaling and more. Although the advantages of this technology for classes of applications have been acknowledged, research in a variety of disciplines is needed to broaden the applicability and scope of the current body of knowledge. In addition to contributions on appraisal of life-as-a-whole, the journal accepts papers on such life domains as job-satisfaction, and such life-aspects as the perceived meaning of life.The Journal of Happiness Studies provides a forum for two main traditions in happiness research: 1) speculative reflection on the good life, and 2) empirical investigation of subjective well-being. Contributions span a broad range of disciplines: alpha-sciences, philosophy in particular; beta-sciences, especially health related quality-of-life research; and gamma-sciences, including not only psychology and sociology but also economics.The journal addresses the conceptualization, measurement, prevalence, explanation, evaluation, imagination and study of happiness.

ournal of Iberian Geology will acknowledge for publication of original papers dealing with different aspects of Earth Sciences, mainly concerned with Geology of the Iberian Peninsula and surrounding areas. The Journal also accepts collections of selected original papers that will be published as edited monographic volumes. The contributors are expert in diverse fields including public health, epidemiology, medicine and nursing, anthropology, sociology, population research, immigration law, and ethics. The journal also publishes review articles, short communications, letters to the editor, and notes from the field.

The Journal of Indian Philosophy publishes articles on various aspects of Indian thought, classical and modern. Articles range from close analysis of individual philosophical texts to detailed annotated translations of texts. The journal also publishes more speculative discussions of philosophical issues based on a close reading of primary sources.

The Journal of Industry, Competition and Trade publishes research on industry, competition and trade policy. It investigates the microeconomic foundation of industrial strategy, innovation, competition, and trade policy and it concentrates on the functioning of product markets (goods and services). Despite the growing interest in theoretical economic policy, the gap between theory and real life remains a wide one. Many new economic theories and models have been developed, few of them are screened for policy conclusion and most of them are not motivated to answer questions raised by real world problems, industrial strategies or policy issues. Game theoretical models have increased our understanding of the sources of and obstacles to innovation, of the working of markets and of strategic interactions. Models also explain how institutions, consumers and firms interact, how they shape their environment and how incentives influence behaviour. The missing link has been the failure to adequately confront these theoretical findings with empirical facts. The even larger gap between theory and its application in economic policy will be addressed by the Journal of Industry, Competition and Trade. It serves as a forum for dialogue between economists from academia and (national or international) policy circles, and between theory and practice. The journal focuses on two transmission processes: It promotes confronting theories with facts and will encourage facts to influence the model building. It focuses on policy conclusions from the applied theoretical research and will promote policy questions to be investigated by researchers. In addition to the Editorial Board, the journal has a Policy Board in which economists currently working in government, competition policy authorities, and international organizations (European Commission, OECD, WTO, Department of Justice, etc.) facilitate the transmission proces, s between academia and economic policy. The Journal of Industry, Competition and Trade publishes original material in the areas of trade, competition and industrial policy. Articles aim to build bridges between theory, empirical work and policy application. Theoretical articles without explicit empirical implications will not be accepted, nor will descriptions of institutions and policy measures, which do not relate to theoretical models. Each volume will contain four invited surveys and approximately ten submitted papers. Two of the invited surveys (thirty pages) will be written by academics, two by economists in institutions.
