The Journal of Enabling Technologies (JET) provides an international, and multi-disciplinary evidence-base in health, social care, and education on how technologies can be enabling for children, young people and adults in their lives. Previously published as Journal of Assistive Technologies.

Journal of Environmental Informatics (JEI) is an international, peer-reviewed, and interdisciplinary publication designed to foster innovative research on systems science and information technology for environmental management. The journal aims to motivate and enhance the integration of environmental information and systems analysis to help develop management solutions that are consensus-oriented, risk-informed, scientifically-based and cost-effective.

The Journal of Field Robotics seeks to promote scholarly publications dealing with the fundamentals of robotics in unstructured and dynamic environments. Articles describing robotics research with applications to the environment, construction, forestry, agriculture, mining, subsea, intelligent highways, search and rescue, military, and space (orbital and planetary) are encouraged. Papers in sensing, sensors, mechanical design, computing architectures, communication, planning, learning, and control, applied to field applications are encouraged. The Journal focuses on experimental robotics and encourages publication of work that has both theoretical and practical significance. Authors will be encouraged to implement their work and demonstrate its utility on significant problems with emphasis on the underlying principles. That is, the Journal will encourage reporting on what was learned in doing the work, rather than merely on what was done. Also encouraged are comparative or meta-studies and verification of previously published results as well as reports of extended field experiments that seek to validate autonomous systems in representative environments. Systems papers will be welcome but they must include analysis and insight into why approaches work and the challenges still to be addressed. Studies of systems that have been fielded over extended durations are encouraged. The journal will publish only articles of high quality rather than achieving a particular number of papers or a ratio of accepted papers to those submitted. The Journal will push the frontiers of electronic publishing in the following ways: 1. Exploitation of the medium via multimedia that accompanies articles . JFR will publish code, models, data, and animations (either synthetic or actual video demonstrations) as appendices to articles. Such appendices will not be a requirement for publication but will be encouraged. 2. Low-cost access to articles and appendices . JFR will be deliberately structured so as to reduce the costs of publication. Fast and easy access to the journal will accelerate the pace at which new results can be absorbed by other researchers. It will also allow access to new results by a large population across the globe currently not privileged to the infrastructure required to support robotics research and, in some cases, who do not have easy access to archival quality printed journals. 3. Reduced time to publication . JFR will organize the reviewing and publication process in such a way that a short turnaround time is possible. Reviews will be led by members of the Editorial Board and by notable researchers. Papers and reviews will be managed via a Web interface and a paid managing editor will be in charge of ensuring the process of submission and resubmission runs smoothly. Before being asked to review a paper, reviewers will be asked whether they have the time to review the paper, and if they do not, they will not be sent the paper. The Journal of Forecasting is an international journal that publishes refereed papers on forecasting. It is multidisciplinary, welcoming papers dealing with any aspect of forecasting: theoretical, practical, computational and methodological. A broad interpretation of the topic is taken with approaches from various subject areas, such as statistics, economics, psychology, systems engineering and social sciences, all encouraged. Furthermore, the Journal welcomes a wide diversity of applications in such fields as business, government, technology and the environment. Of particular interest are papers dealing with modelling issues and the relationship of forecasting systems to decision-making processes. New concepts of modelling are especially encouraged as well as practical details of actual applications of particular models. Apart from research reports and review articles, other materials of interest that will be published include book reviews, software reviews, descriptions of data sources and notices of general interest.

The Journal of Global Optimization publishes carefully refereed papers that deal with all theoretical, computational, and applied aspects of global optimization. Original research articles explore optimization in the widest sense, including nonlinear, stochastic and combinatorial programming, multi-objective programming, control, games, geometry, approximation, and algorithms for parallel architectures. In addition to papers covering theory and algorithms of global optimization, the journal publishes important papers on numerical experiments and applications in engineering, management, and the sciences. Of special note, readers will find thoughtful examinations of problems arising from applications. Apart from full-length articles, the journal features short communications on both open and solved global optimization problems. It also offers reviews of relevant books and special journal issues.

The Journal of Digital Imaging (JDI) is the official peer-reviewed journal of the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM). The journal, although limited to -metrics aspects, has a broad scope: in principle, all quantitative analysis of original problems in information science are within the scope of JOI. Besides its generality, Journal of Informetrics focusses on papers describing fundamental methods and theories and/or universally important data, gathered in a non-trivial way. Fundamental methods comprise mathematical, probabilistic or statistical models and techniques as well as methods in operational research. These methods can serve the quantitative explanation of certain phenomena, evaluation of information and its producers as well as the management of libraries and other information centres.Journal of Informetrics has a special (though not exclusive) interest in inter- and multi-disciplinary papers, dealing with common aspects of (or possible differences between) several neighbouring disciplines such as quantitative linguistics, econometrics, biometrics and other -metrics fields. The aim is to lower the barriers between these fields, hence avoiding reformulation of similar problems, theories and solutions. Journal of Informetrics also welcomes certain papers from researchers who do not consider themselves as informetrists, for example research papers would be considered on the graph-theoretic description of networks.Journal of Informetrics also publishes papers that improve standardisation in informetrics. In general the journal aims to contribute to increasing the degree of "hardness" of the field, and to increase the degree of "exactness" of the scientific field of informetrics.The journal covers informetrics and considers it to comprise (or at least to include) fields such as bibliometrics, scientometrics, webometrics and cybermetrics. Specific topics can be described (non-exhaustively) as follows: informetric laws (including, but not exclusively: Lotka, Zipf, Bradford, Mandelbrot but also laws of growth and ageing or obsolescence) hereby also modelling generalised bibliographies, aspects of inequality or concentration (e.g. Lorenz theory) and diffusion, citation theory, linking theory, downloads, indicators (definitions and properties), evaluation techniques for scientific output (literature, persons) and for documentary systems (information retrieval) incl. ranking theory, library management, graph-theoretic and topological analysis of networks (incl. The Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems is devoted to scholarly research on the development, planning, management, operation and evaluation of intelligent transportation systems. Intelligent transportation systems are innovative solutions that address contemporary transportation problems. They are characterized by information, dynamic feedback and automation that allow people and goods to move efficiently. They encompass the full scope of information technologies used in transportation, including control, computation and communication, as well as the algorithms, databases, models and human interfaces. The emergence of these technologies as a new pathway for transportation is relatively new. The Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems is especially interested in research that leads to improved planning and operation of the transportation system through the application of new technologies. The journal is particularly interested in research that adds to the scientific understanding of the impacts that intelligent transportation systems can have on accessibility, congestion, pollution, safety, security, noise, and energy and resource consumption. The journal is inter-disciplinary, and accepts work from fields of engineering, economics, planning, policy, business and management, as well as any other disciplines that contribute to the scientific understanding of intelligent transportation systems. The journal is also multi-modal, and accepts work on intelligent transportation for all forms of ground, air and water transportation. Example topics include the role of information systems in transportation, traffic flow and control, vehicle control, routing and scheduling, traveler response to dynamic information, planning for ITS innovations, evaluations of ITS field operational tests, ITS deployment experiences, automated highway systems, vehicle control systems, diffusion of ITS, and tools/software for analysis of ITS. All articles appearing in the Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems undergo a rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and at least two anonymous peer reviewers providing comments.
