The IJIS publishes fundamental and applied research in innovation practices as the official journal of the International Association of Innovation Professionals (IAOIP).

The objectives of the journal are to develop and promote the fields of innovation and technology management by providing a platform for reporting, sharing as well as the exchange of ideas, research findings, industry best practice and trends in the selected fields. In particular, the journal will focus on the managerial issues and challenges (and ways to address them) brought about by the increasing pace of technological advancement globally. This international dimension is emphasized in order to promote greater exchange between researchers of different cultural and national background, thus contributing and enriching our knowledge in the fields of innovation and technology management.

Major catalysts, e.g. deregulation, global competition, technological breakthroughs, changing customer expectations, structural changes, excess capacity, environmental concerns, less protectionism, etc., are reshaping the landscape of corporations worldwide. Assumptions about predictability, stability and clear boundaries are becoming less valid as two key actors have a clear impact on the nature of competitive space: agents with knowledge and interactions. IJIE covers new concepts of strategy and organisation as competitiveness of companies increasingly depends upon exploiting the new strategic potentials of intellect/service technologies.

The field of knowledge-based development faces the major challenge of making concrete and relevant contributions to the amelioration of societies (i.e. creating a knowledge society) and not solely to the promotion of competitive advantage for businesses. IJKBD serves as a multi-disciplinary platform with a systems approach to the theory and practice of knowledge-based development activities and processes, focusing on knowledge cities and societies, knowledge-based urban development, knowledge and innovation clusters, and knowledge-intensive service activities.

As the first reviews journal in the field of business and management, the International Journal of Management Reviews (IJMR) is an essential reference tool for business academics and doctoral students alike. The journal covers all the main management sub-disciplines including, for example, HRM, OB, International & Strategic Management, Operations Management, Management Sciences, Information Systems & Technology Management, Accounting & Finance, and Marketing. Each issue includes state-of-the-art literature review articles/surveys which examine the relevant literature published on a specific aspect of the sub-discipline, for example, HRM: Appraisal Systems. The IJMR complements the other publications produced by the British Academy of Management and is deliberately targeted at a wide readership interested in business and management. The International Journal of Manpower is forum for innovative thinking and advancing knowledge in the field of HRM and management.

The journal covers all aspects of mining and environmental technology relating to coal, oil sands, industrial minerals and metalliferous deposits. Environmental issues specially identified for coverage include: Environmental impact assessment and permitting; mining and processing technologies; waste management and waste minimization practices; mine site closure, decommissioning and reclamation; acid mine drainage. Mining issues to be covered include: Design of surface and underground mines (economics, geotechnical, production scheduling, ventilation); mine optimization and planning; mining geostatics, drilling and blasting technologies; material handling systems; mine equipment. The role of computers and micro-processor based technology are also covered.
