Reproductive BioMedicine Online

ISSN: 1472-6483

Reproductive BioMedicine Online covers the formation, growth and differentiation of the human embryo. It is intended to bring to public attention new research on biological and clinical research on human reproduction and the human embryo including relevant studies on animals. It is published by a group of scientists and clinicians working in these fields of study. Its audience comprises researchers, clinicians, practitioners, academics and patients.Context:The period of human embryonic growth covered is between the formation of the primordial germ cells in the fetus until mid-pregnancy. High quality research on lower animals is included if it helps to clarify the human situation. Studies progressing to birth and later are published if they have a direct bearing on events in the earlier stages of pregnancy.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Research in Microbiology

ISSN: 0923-2508

1887-The beginnings of the journalResearch in Microbiology is the direct descendant of the original Pasteur periodical entitled Annales de l'Institut Pasteur, created in 1887 by Emile Duclaux under the patronage of Louis Pasteur. The Editorial Committee included Chamberland, Grancher, Nocard, Roux and Straus, and the first issue began with Louis Pasteur's "Lettre sur la Rage" which clearly defines the spirit of the journal:"You have informed me, my dear Duclaux, that you intend to start a monthly collection of articles entitled "Annales de l'Institut Pasteur". You will be rendering a service that will be appreciated by the ever increasing number of young scientists who are attracted to microbiological studies. In your Annales, our laboratory research will of course occupy a central position, but the work from outside groups that you intend to publish will be a source of competitive stimulation for all of us."That first volume included 53 articles as well as critical reviews and book reviews. From that time on, the Annales appeared regularly every month, without interruption, even during the two world wars. Although the journal has undergone many changes over the past 100 years (in the title, the format, the language) reflecting the evolution in scientific publishing, it has consistently maintained the Pasteur tradition by publishing original reports on all aspects of microbiology.Originally founded as the " Annales de l'Institut Pasteur ", Research in Microbiology has been a leading source of up-to-date information in the field of microbiology for more than a century. It publishes papers based on original research in fundamental and applied biology of bacteria, archaea and lower eukaryotes. It covers all aspects of the microbial taxonomy, phylogeny, ecology, physiology and metabolism, molecular genetics and genomics, as well as the interactions between microbes and interactions of microbes with their environment. Research in Microbiology currently publishes 10 issues a year, including an annual Forum issue, original articles, reviews, and letters to the Editor.Indexed in Medline, Excerpta Medica / EMbase, Science Citation Index, Current Contents (Life Sciences)On-line services:For on-line submission:http://pasteur.fontismedia.com/res/ For full-text articles, abstracts, contents, references: http://www.sciencedirect.com For the journal homepage at Elsevier:http://www.elsevier.com/locate/resmic

Respiratory Physiology & Neurobiology

ISSN: 1569-9048eISSN: 1878-1519

Respiratory Physiology & Neurobiology publishes original articles and invited reviews concerning physiology and pathophysiology of respiration in its broadest sense. Although a special focus is on topics in neurobiology, high quality papers in respiratory molecular and cellular biology are also welcome, as are high-quality papers in traditional areas, such as mechanics of breathing; gas exchange and acid-base balance; respiration at rest and exercise; respiration in unusual conditions, like high or low pressure or changes of temperature, low ambient oxygen; embryonic and adult respiration; comparative respiratory physiology. Papers on clinical aspects, articles on original methods, as well as theoretical papers are also considered as long as they foster the understanding of respiratory physiology and pathophysiology.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Reviews in Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders is an international journal dedicated to students, clinicians and researchers involved in the broad area of endocrinology and metabolism. This field of medicine and biology is rapidly advancing and a major challenge is to keep abreast of the advances in the field. The mission of this review journal is to keep those interested individuals informed of all the latest exciting advancements that are essential to their research or clinical practice. The format of this review journal differs from existing journals. Each of the quarterly issues covers a specific topic. Ten to twelve articles will be published by world leaders in this area. The individual papers are brief overviews of the latest developments, with insight into the basic aspects of the disease and translation into clinical aspects. Thus the student, academic clinician and practicing clinician will be able to understand the disease process and apply this knowledge to his or her area of interest. Selected readin

Russian Journal of Genetics

ISSN: 1022-7954eISSN: 1608-3369

Russian Journal of Genetics (Genetika) was founded in 1965, soon after the end of Lysenko’s era, a time during which genetics was considered a false, reactionary science. Since its inception, the journal has made a significant contribution to the revival of genetics in the former Soviet Union. The journal publishes reviews and experimental papers in the areas of theoretical and applied genetics. It presents fundamental research on genetic processes at the molecular, cell, organism, and population levels. Special attention is paid to the most topical areas in modern genetics dealing with global concerns: the conservation and rational management of genetic resources and the evaluation, prediction, and prevention of the negative effects of environmental pollution. The journal also publishes papers dedicated to events in Russian science and the history of genetics.
