Nephron comprises two sections, “Clinical Practice” and “Experimental Nephrology and Genetics”, which are each under the editorship of internationally recognized leaders and served by specialized and young associate editors. Apart from high-quality original research, Nephron publishes invited reviews/mini-reviews on up-to-date topics. The section “Clinical Practice” also includes second-opinion articles that provide a platform for international experts and opinion leaders to cast a critical eye over published papers dealing with hot topics in clinical and experimental nephrology. The section “Experimental Nephrology and Genetics” includes case studies of genetic interest articles that provide clinically relevant examples of the genetic heterogeneity of renal diseases. Finally, special articles cover a broad range of topics, offering a human-interest perspective on medical/scientific issues with a strong emotional and societal impact. Neural Development welcomes manuscripts on all aspects of research that use molecular, cellular, physiological or behavioral methods to provide novel insights into the mechanisms that underlie the formation of the nervous system.

Published monthly from January 2010, Neuro-Oncology is the official journal of the Society for Neuro-Oncology. The journal gives special attention to synthetic research and reviews that aim to bridge genetic aberrancies with cellular and molecular mechanisms of neurological pathogenesis.

Neurobiology of Aging publishes the results of studies in behavior, biochemistry, cell biology, endocrinology, molecular biology, morphology, neurology, neuropathology, pharmacology, physiology and protein chemistry in which the primary emphasis involves mechanisms of nervous system changes with age or diseases associated with age. Reviews and primary research articles are included, occasionally accompanied by open peer commentary. Letters to the Editor and brief communications are also acceptable. Brief reports of highly time-sensitive material are usually treated as rapid communications in which case editorial review is completed within six weeks and publication scheduled for the next available issue. The rapidly expanding field of neuroimmunomodulation explores the way in which the nervous system interacts with the immune system via neural, hormonal, and paracrine actions. Encompassing both basic and clinical research, Neuroimmunomodulation reports on all aspects of these interactions. Basic investigations consider all neural and humoral networks from molecular genetics through cell regulation to integrative systems of the body. The journal welcomes reports on the basic mechanisms involved in the CNS pathology of various neurodegenerative diseases. Although primarily devoted to research articles, timely reviews are published on a regular basis.

The aim of Neuropeptides is the rapid publication of original research and review articles, dealing with the structure, distribution, actions and functions of peptides in the central and peripheral nervous systems. The explosion of research activity in this field has led to the identification of numerous naturally occurring endogenous peptides which act as neurotransmitters, neuromodulators, or trophic factors, to mediate nervous system functions. Increasing numbers of non-peptide ligands of neuropeptide receptors have been developed, which act as agonists or antagonists in peptidergic systems.The journal provides a unique opportunity of integrating the many disciplines involved in all neuropeptide research. The journal publishes articles on all aspects of the neuropeptide field, with particular emphasis on gene regulation of peptide expression, peptide receptor subtypes, transgenic and knockout mice with mutations in genes for neuropeptides and peptide receptors, neuroanatomy, physiology, behaviour, neurotrophic factors, preclinical drug evaluation, clinical studies, and clinical trials.Original papers predominate. Manuscripts may be of any length, but must be complete studies; preliminary communications are not accepted. Review articles and hypothesis papers are welcomed, and will be evaluated in the same way as experimental papers. Authors intending to submit a review are advised to communicate their intentions to the Editor, to avoid possible duplication.

Neurophysiologie Clinique/Clinical Neurophysiology delivers the most recent and prominent developments in neurophysiologic investigations of the central and peripheral nervous system, and of the muscle of normal or ill human beings and animals. Regular sections include original research, general reviews, short communications and a correspondence section which increase knowledge, provide guidelines and stimulate research in the field. Articles are published in English or in French.

Readers are also kept informed of the latest events in neurophysiology through abstracts of the Society's conference meetings, analyses of scientific articles and book reviews, all of which are published in the journal.

Neurophysiologie Clinique/Clinical Neurophysiology addresses all researchers and clinicians in the field of the nervous system: classical and numerical, dipole source localisation, evoked potentials, sleep and neuromuscular electrophysiology. The journal is published under the auspices of the French speaking Society of Clinical Neurophysiology.

Neurophysiology is an international scientific journal.
