The Journal of Social Service Research is exclusively devoted to empirical research and its application to the design, delivery, and management of the new social services. The Journal focuses on outcomes-based research and practice, and clearly presents the different types of funded and non-funded state-of-the-art research being carried out in the field. Each issue effectively highlights both the quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Contributors from the national and international social service arenas provide an important and critical basis for management and policy decisions in a wide variety of social service settings. CSWE aims to promote and strengthen the quality of social work education through preparation of competent social work professionals by providing national leadership and a forum for collective action. The Journal of Social Work Practice publishes high quality refereed articles devoted to the exploration and analysis of practice in social welfare and allied health professions from psychodynamic and systemic perspectives. This includes counselling, social care planning, education and training, research, institutional life, management and organisation or policy-making. Articles are also welcome that critically examine the psychodynamic tradition in the light of other theoretical orientations or explanatory systems. The Journal of Social Work Practice in the Addictions is designed to help social work practitioners stay abreast of the latest developments in the field of addictions. This journal publishes refereed articles on innovative individual, family, group work, and community practice models for treating and preventing substance abuse and other addictions in diverse populations. The journal focuses on research findings, health care, social policies, and program administration directly affecting social work practice in the addictions. The Journal of Social Work Practice in the Addictions has several regular features of interest to social workers in the field of addictions. Each issue contains a "Special Topic" column which consists of a discussion between experts or an interview with one expert about a particularly urgent issue in the field. The Journal of Social Work in End-of-Life & Palliative Care Original research and conceptual articles explore issues crucial to individuals with serious, life-threatening, and life-limiting illness and their families across the lifespan. The focus includes, but is not limited to, the following areas: inter-professional practice and research; practice and policy innovations; practice evaluation; end-of-life communication and decision making; pain management and palliative care; grief and bereavement; ethical issues; sudden traumatic death; secondary trauma and compassion fatigue among professional caregivers. Topics addressed may cover a range of health and mental health community practice settings. The 8220;Reflections8221; section of the journal is dedicated to using creative writing to give voice to the personal impact of end-of-life and palliative care in clinical practice, community organizing, policy practice, research, and education. The Journal of Southern African Studies is an international publication for work of high academic quality on issues of interest and concern in the region of Southern Africa. It aims at generating fresh scholarly enquiry and rigorous exposition in the many different disciplines of the social sciences and humanities, and periodically organises and supports conferences to this end, sometimes in the region. The Journal of Spanish Cultural Studies is an international peer-reviewed journal that interrogates established notions of Spanish culture and Hispanism by publishing innovative theoretical and critical work of the highest quality. It promotes the study of previously marginalized areas of Spanish culture, and research which rethinks the cultural meanings of canonical texts, in relation to all historical periods. The Journal of Spanish Language Teaching is a new peer-reviewed journal that provides an international forum for innovative research, methods, materials and theories on the teaching and learning of Spanish as a foreign language. The Journal's main purpose is to create a dialogue between researchers and practitioners worldwide in order to enrich a discipline that is experiencing tremendous growth. The Journal invites contributions from researchers working on topics related to the teaching and learning of the Spanish language at any educational level and in any setting.

The Journal will publish original research papers as well as book reviews. Periodically, it will also consider monographic issues and critical surveys of recent research related to a specific sub-discipline or geographical area. The Journal of Sport Psychology in Action is an official publication of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology, and is a refereed journal, designed to promote the application of scientific knowledge to the practice of sport, exercise, and health psychology. Topics covered in this journal include interdisciplinary work 8212; drawing from the fields of exercise physiology, sport science, and health psychology 8212; that target knowledge and application for professionals and practitioners. The journal differs from other sport and exercise psychology journals because of the target audience and style of writing. The Journal of Sport Psychology in Action is written for practitioners, coaches, athletes, and individuals from various sport organizations.

It welcomes submissions from all relevant subject areas, such as sport, leisure, physical education and tourism, and from a wide range of disciplines including, but not confined to: sociology, psychology, geography, policy studies, management studies, economics and marketing. Submissions may be empirical or conceptual, but should have a clearly articulated theoretical basis. JS&T takes an inclusive and wide-ranging view of the definitions of both sport and tourism, and therefore considers professional and amateur, competitive and non-competitive, social, recreational, and informal activities, as well as leisure, business, and day-trip tourism, to fall within its scope. The journal is interested in tourism incorporating any form of sporting interest, not just tourism to actively participate in sport. Consequently, manuscripts relating to tourism where sport is a subsidiary interest or activity are as appropriate for submission to JS&T as manuscripts relating to tourism where sport is the prime purpose. JS&T also covers wider aspects of the relationship between sport and tourism, such as policy partnerships between sport and tourism agencies or the role of tourism in sports development, and is interested in manuscripts that bring perspectives traditionally associated with the tourism area to the study of sport, and vice-versa.
