The Journal of European Integration publishes articles with a focus on European integration and an interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary perspective, thus integrating politics, European political economy, law, history, and sociology. European integration is understood as pan-European rather than as merely the EU, though the bulk of contributions might be devoted to the latter. It also presents comparative studies of federalism, other forms of regional integration, and articles dealing with EU external relations, whether in the trade or security policy field. We discourage articles looking at single country case studies.The main purpose of the Journal of European Integration is to serve a wide readership which implies that articles should be of a general rather than a specific or specialised nature.
