Cell Biochemistry and Biophysics fosters progress in comprehending the nature of the biochemical and biophysical mechanisms underlying the control of cellular physiological homeostasis and the consequences of its perturbation. Reports span the disciplines of modern biochemistry and chemistry, biophysics and cell physiology, physics and engineering, molecular and structural biology and the medical sciences. Emphasis is placed on the relationship between molecular structure and the nature of the specific property/function under investigation. Cellular & Molecular Biology Letters focuses on research at the interface of cellular and molecular biology, and also on the fields of biochemistry, biophysics and biotechnology. The range of coverage includes cellular compartments, the cell cycle and its regulation, cell differentiation, stem cells, cell traffic, signaling, motility, adhesion and division, the cellular membranes, the cytoskeleton, nuclear architecture, gene expression, and molecular biotechnology. Since its founding in 1996, at the University of Wroclaw, Poland, Cellular & Molecular Biology Letters has served as an international journal: a vehicle for the publication of research and review articles on achievements in cell and molecular biology, and related disciplines. The journal offers research articles and short communications, as well as mini-reviews and review articles on recent advances of interest to its readership.

Papers, submitted to this journal, having neither been submitted, accepted nor published previously or simultaneously in other journals or books, may be accepted.It should be noted that all papers have to be transmitted, either to the Editor-in-Chief, to the Associate Editors or to the Co-Editors, who can all, without exception, handle the totality of the procedures, leading to the evaluation of the papers. Channels is the first international peer-reviewed journal to focus exclusively on all aspects of ion channel and ion transporter/exchanger function. This includes papers on biophysics, structure, molecular biology, structure-function analysis, and regulation of channels and ion transport proteins, as well as their roles in health and disease. We also encourage submission of manuscripts concerned with physiological aspects that branch into areas such as neuroscience and cardiovascular sciences, provided that channels and/or transporters are the main focus of such studies. The initiative to start with publication of a new journal Chemical and Biochemical Engineering Quarterly (CABEQ) as a part of European Alpe-Adria initiative for regional cooperation is described. Given are the main goals for the new journal published by Croatian Association of Chemical Engineers, formation of the international editorial board, and experiences gained during 15 years of publishing. Presented are statistical data on published papers, country of origin of authors, and classification of papers into chemical and biochemical engineering fields. The experiences gained during the last two years with publishing on Internet and planned activities in future are also presented. A view on validation of journals by ISI impact factor is discussed.
