The International Journal of Control, Automation, and Systems (IJCAS) is a joint publication of Institute of Control, Robotics and Systems (ICROS) and The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers (KIEE), which is published as bimonthly periodical as of 2003. The two institutes have been discussing the launch of a joint publication, since 2001; by discontinuing the former English journals of their respective institutes, they aim to establish a high-quality archival journal. In addition to introducing a new journal name, the IJCAS, the joint steering committee has set a new publication direction. To broaden the scope of the journal, the committee has invited distinguished scholars from abroad as well as from Korea to serve on the editorial board. I am honored to work with them to make this a truly international journal. The paradigm for the next generation of information systems (ISs) will involve large numbers of ISs distributed over large, complex computer/communication networks. Such ISs will manage or have access to large amounts of information and computing services and will interoperate as required. These support individual or collaborative human work. Communication among component systems will be done using protocols that range from conventional ones to those based on distributed AI. We call such next generation ISs Cooperative Information Systems (CIS).The International Journal of Cooperative Information Systems (IJCIS) addresses the intricacies of cooperative work in the framework of distributed interoperable information systems. It provides a forum for the presentation and dissemination of research covering all aspects of CIS design, requirements, functionality, implementation, deployment, and evolution. The International Journal of Corpus Linguistics (IJCL) publishes original research covering methodological, applied and theoretical work in any area of corpus linguistics. Through its focus on empirical language research, IJCL provides a forum for the presentation of new findings and innovative approaches in any area of linguistics (e.g. lexicology, grammar, discourse analysis, stylistics, sociolinguistics, morphology, contrastive linguistics), applied linguistics (e.g. language teaching, forensic linguistics), and translation studies. Based on its interest in corpus methodology, IJCL also invites contributions on the interface between corpus and computational linguistics. The journal has a major reviews section publishing book reviews as well as corpus and software reviews. The language of the journal is English, but contributions are also invited on studies of languages other than English. IJCL occasionally publishes special issues (for details please contact the editor). All contributions are peer-reviewed.
International Journal of Corrosion is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes original research articles as well as review articles in all areas of corrosion.
The Journal publishes original refereed papers, review papers and correspondence in the fields of skin and cosmetic research. It is read by practising cosmetic scientists and dermatologists, as well as specialists in more diverse disciplines that are developing new products which contact the skin. The aim of the Journal is to present current scientific research, both pure and applied, in: cosmetics, toiletries, perfumery and allied fields. Areas that are of particular interest include: human safety testing of skin, hair and oral products, physical chemistry and technology of emulsion and dispersed systems, theory and application of surfactants, new developments in olfactive research, aerosol technology and selected aspects of analytical chemistry.
The issues addressed include the quality of response of materials, body structures and energy-absorbing systems subjected to sudden dynamic loading, focussing on new crashworthy structures, new concepts in restraint systems and realistic accident reconstruction. Articles reflect the importance of computer modelling, as well as the development of human surrogates in impact simulation and prediction of vehicle and passenger response. Papers on impact biomechanics, covering human response, mechanics of injury and occupant protection in general, are also published. International Journal of Crashworthiness publishes both original research papers (full papers and short communications) and state-of-the-art reviews. All published research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymous refereeing by independent expert referees.
