Expanded Routledge Psychoanalysis Coverage in PEP 

 The Journal of Infant, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy invites submissions of articles by clinicians, researchers and theoreticians from diverse backgrounds who appreciate and/or work from a psychodynamic perspective. Articles representative of a full range of psychoanalytic theoretical traditions are welcome, as are those demonstrating comparative and integrative approaches. Submissions by Students and Early Career Professionals are provided mentoring if, upon submission, through our editorial manager system, there is indication of that status.

The Journal of Infant, Child, and Adolescent Psychotherapy provides a forum for the exploration of issues directly relevant to 21st century practice. Articles are written by and for infant, child, and adolescent psychotherapists, as well as researcher/clinicians from diverse backgrounds who appreciate and/or work from a psychodynamic perspective. Articles include clinical case studies, showcasing our integration of contemporary theoretical and research findings, theoretical trends of current concern to practitioners, and clinical research that has significant implication for daily practice.

It is the only child-focused journal that offers real-world coverage of real-world issues by child therapists who are actively engaged in the field.
 
Peer Review Policy:
The papers in Journal of Infant, Child, and Adolescent Psychotherapy undergo editorial screening and double-blind peer review with the exceptions of invited articles and invited discussions.

Anyone expert in his/her particular field wishing to submit an uninvited review is advised to seek prior guidance from the Editor. The Journal also includes brief reports, occasional letters, and an 'Hypothesis' section. All papers are assessed by expert referees.

In one forum, Journal of Loss and Trauma brings together scholarship on personal losses relating to family, health, and aging issues. The journal addresses issues dealing with psychological and physical health and interpersonal losses relative to extended family, community life, and society as a whole. In order to broaden the reader's perspective on loss and bereavement, the journal defines loss as a major reduction in a person's resources, whether personal, material, or symbolic, to which the person was emotionally attached. Types of loss covered include: death and dying; dissolution and divorce; loss of employment; life-threatening diseases and long-term disability; loss of possessions; homelessness; recurring and haunting memories; disenfranchisement and stigmatization; losses resulting from war and violence; and aging. The Journal of Loss & Trauma highlights common as well as differing impacts of major losses while revealing commonalities of the various healing processes. Interdisciplinary in its approach, the journal publishes empirically-oriented papers, case studies with intervention strategies, point-counterpoint discussions, theoretical analyses, essays on concepts or links among relevant fields, and therapeutic approaches. The Journal of Mental Health Research in Intellectual Disabilities, the official research journal of NADD, is an interdisciplinary research journal with the purpose of reporting original scientific and scholarly contributions to advance knowledge about mental health issues among persons with intellectual disabilities. The journal will address issues related to the full range of psychopathology among persons with intellectual disabilities (mental retardation), neuro-developmental disorders and autism spectrum disorders, including severe behavior problems, criminality, substance abuse, and genetic phenotypes across the life span. The journal seeks to publish contributions with an emphasis on empirically based research and will include research on characteristics of persons with intellectual and mental health problems; risk and protective factors related to the development and/or prevention of mental health problems in persons with intellectual disabilities; development of screening and diagnostic instruments; effectiveness of behavioral, psychosocial and pharmacological treatment procedures (including group and single subject designs); critical or comparative literature reviews, including quantitative meta-analyses. Occasional conceptual reviews that provide for new understanding of theory or theoretical constructs will also be considered.
