Developmental Cell is a broad-spectrum journal that covers the fields of cell biology and developmental biology. It publishes research reports describing novel results of unusual significance in all areas of these two fields, and at the interface between them. Each issue also contains review articles tailored to the journal's broad readership. DEVELOPMENTAL DYNAMICS provides a focus for communication among developmental biologists who study the progressive and dynamic emergence of form and function during embryonic development. The journal is an international forum for the exchange of novel and substantive information on mechanisms that control development. We seek manuscripts presenting work done at all levels of biological organization, ranging from the molecular to the organismal, using both animal and plant model systems, and we welcome studies that advance our understanding of the developmental basis of human disease. DEVELOPMENTAL DYNAMICS is fully compliant with current open access policies of major funding agencies including those of the NIH, HHMI, and Wellcome Trust. In addition, all of our content is open access one year after publication, and more than 30% of our content - including all reviews, special issues, primers, and highlights - is open access immediately upon publication. Developmental Neurobiology (previously the Journal of Neurobiology ) publishes original research articles on development, regeneration, repair and plasticity of the nervous system and on the ontogeny of behavior. High quality contributions in these areas are solicited, with an emphasis on experimental as opposed to purely descriptive work. The Journal also will consider manuscripts reporting novel approaches and techniques for the study of the development of the nervous system as well as occasional special issues on topics of significant current interest. We welcome suggestions on possible topics from our readers. Papers that do not conform to the general criteria for publication in Developmental Neurobiology will be returned immediately without detailed review in order to avoid unnecessary delay in submission elsewhere.

Developmental Neuroscience is a multidisciplinary journal publishing papers covering all stages of invertebrate, vertebrate and human brain development. Emphasis is placed on publishing fundamental as well as translational studies that contribute to progress in understanding mechanisms of normal development as well as genetic and environmental causes of abnormal brain development. The journal provides valuable information for both physicians and biologists. The journal accepts original research reports, reports on technological advances, and long and short reviews.

Developmental Psychobiology is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research papers from the disciplines of psychology, biology, neuroscience, and medicine that contribute to an understanding of behavior development. Research that focuses on development in the embryo/fetus, neonate, juvenile, or adult animal and multidisciplinary research that relates behavioral development to anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, genetics, or evolution is appropriate. The journal represents a broad phylogenetic perspective on behavior development by publishing studies of invertebrates, fish, birds, humans, and other animals. The journal publishes experimental and descriptive studies whether carried out in the laboratory or field. The journal also publishes review articles and theoretical papers that make important conceptual contributions. Special dedicated issues of Developmental Psychobiology , consisting of invited papers on a topic of general interest, may be arranged with the Editor-in-Chief. Developmental Psychobiology also publishes Letters to the Editor, which discuss issues of general interest or material published in the journal. Letters discussing published material may correct errors, provide clarification, or offer a different point of view. Authors should consult the editors on the preparation of these contributions. Overall scholarship including soundness of experimental design, appropriate controls and procedures, and importance and significance are the major criteria for publication. Developmental Psychobiology is the official publication of the International Society for Developmental Psychobiology. Membership in the Society is not a prerequisite for submission or publication.

Differentiation is a multidisciplinary journal dealing with topics relating to cell differentiation, development, cellular structure and function, and cancer. Differentiation of eukaryotes at the molecular level and the use of transgenic and targeted mutagenesis approaches to problems of differentiation are of particular interest to the journal.The journal will publish full-length articles containing original work in any of these areas. We will also publish reviews and commentaries on topics of current interest. EvoDevo publishes articles on a broad range of topics associated with the translation of genotype to phenotype in a phylogenetic context. Understanding the history of life, the evolution of novelty and the generation of form, whether through embryogenesis, budding, or regeneration are amongst the greatest challenges in biology. We support the understanding of these processes through the many complementary approaches that characterize the field of evo-devo. The focus of the journal is on research that promotes understanding of the pattern and process of morphological evolution.

Evolution and Development serves as a voice for the rapidly growing research community at the interface of evolutionary and developmental biology. The exciting re-integration of these two fields, after almost a century's separation, holds much promise as the focus of a broader synthesis of biological thought. Evolution & Development publishes works that address a diversity of evolution/development questions in a wide range of systems. The journal welcomes papers from evo-devo biologists reflecting such approaches as paleontology, population biology, developmental biology, and molecular evolution, and genetics, but also encourages submissions from professionals in other fields where relevant research is being carried out, from theoretical biology to ecology to the history and philosophy of science.

Gene Expression Patterns is devoted to the rapid publication of high quality studies of gene expression during development. These studies can be the in situ expression patterns of important or interesting genes, or the temporal expression of large gene sets during development. Studies of gene expression in cell culture are also suitable if they have clear developmental relevance; for example, analysis of key regulatory genes or of gene sets in the maintenance or differentiation of stem cells. There is no specific length limitation for the papers provided that the results are reported succinctly.

The American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene is a peer-reviewed journal published monthly by the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and consists of two complete, sequentially numbered volumes each calendar year.

Invertebrate Reproduction & Development (IRD) presents original research articles and notes on the reproductive and developmental biology of the Invertebrata, both embryonic and postembryonic. IRD welcomes papers reporting significant results obtained using new techniques. Encouraged topic areas include: physiology, biochemistry, functional morphology, phylogeny, behavioural and regulatory mechanisms, including genetic, endocrine and molecular studies.The journal publishes penetrating and provocative reviews, mini reviews, research papers, announcements and proceedings. New techniques and perspectives are particularly welcome. The journal also welcomes short reports on 'hot' articles appearing in the current literature. The main criteria for acceptance of subject reviews and research papers are originality, scientific rigour and appeal to the readership. All authors must ensure that all necessary permissions have been obtained for reproducing any other copyright material.

Journal of Anatomy publishes original papers, invited review articles and book reviews. Its main focus is on contributions to understanding development, evolution and function through a broad range of anatomical approaches. Articles covering bioinformatics and other topics that clarify or provide tools for functional anatomical understanding will also be sympathetically considered. Priority will be given to experimental studies, to contributions based on molecular and cell biology, and on the application of modern functional imaging techniques. Studies that are essentially descriptive anatomy will only be published if the Editors consider that they are of functional significance. Journal of Anatomy also publishes Brief Communications: these are brief papers (up to 3 journal pages) that present new ideas or data of particular originality and timeliness. The editors will also consider publishing Letters (1-2 pages) on scientific issues of clear relevance to the scope of interest of the Journal.

The Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics provides a journal format for the publication of novel cellular, molecular, genetic, and epigenetic findings that advance our understanding of the biology of human gametes and preimplantation embryos. The Journal of Cognition and Development is the official journal of the Cognitive Development Society (CDS). Some CDS members are concerned with basic research or theory; others focus on policy issues and practical applications. The range of interests includes cognitive development during all stages of life, and we seek to understand ontogenetic processes in both humans and nonhumans. Finally, their interests encompass typical as well as atypical development, and we attempt to characterize both biological and cultural influences on cognitive change and continuity. The relationship between the journal and the society is symbiotic in that the journal enhances the field of cognitive development by providing a prestigious forum for innovative research and theory. It publishes the very best articles on all aspects of cognitive development.
