Bioactive Carbohydrates and Dietary Fibre is intended to be an international journal focused on dietary fibre, and bioactive carbohydrates (including bioactive polysaccharides, oligosaccharides and glycoproteins. It will include original studies and comprehensive reviews on the primary structure, molecular characteristics including conformation, size and shape, and bioactivities demonstrated by studies using in vitro, cell culture, animal and human clinical trials for understanding the action mechanisms and efficacy of bioactive carbohydrates from plants, fungi, animals and produced by biotechnology.Specific bioactivities such as reducing serum cholesterol, modulating blood glucose and insulin levels, fermentability in the gastrointestinal track, anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, immune regulatory and anti-oxidant activities demonstrated by these bioactive carbohydrates are the main focus of this journal. It also covers the areas of interaction of dietary fibres, oligosaccharides, polysaccharides and glycoproteins with food matrices which may enhance or alter their efficacy, shelf-life stability of the bioactivities.Papers will cover such issues as:• Structural characterization of bioactive polysaccharides, oligosaccharides and glycoproteins• Conformation and molecular characteristics of bioactive polysaccharides, oligosaccharides and glycoproteins• Bioactivities of polysaccharides including: anti-cancer, immune modulation, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant etc• New anti-cancer polysaccharides from herbs• Recent advances in bioactive polysaccharides, oligosaccharides and glycoproteins• Analysis and physicochemical characterization of soluble and insoluble dietary fibre• Effects of dietary fibre on post-prandial blood glucose and/or insulin levels• Effect of dietary fibre on blood total and/or LDL cholesterol levels;• Effects of dietary fibre on gut function and ecology of microflora• Role of a diet rich in soluble fibre in reducing body weight• Development of dietary fibre industry• Animal and clinical trial studies• Updates on regulatory changes and legal constraints on nutritional dietary fibre and other food hydrocolloidsThe subject borders on medicine but is not a medical subject. The common factor for published papers is “bioactivity” and it's influence on health. Origin, husbanding, extraction, characterization, purification, cell culture, animal and clinical trials leading towards a medical or food supplemental applications will be considered. To be considered for this journal the research needs to cross-over from chemistry/biochemistry into biological investigation, with opportunities too for those who work on immune systems to contribute.Types of contribution:• Original research papers (full papers and short communications)• Invited reviews• Opinion pieces• Perspective commentaries.
Biocatalysis and Agricultural Biotechnology is the official journal of the International Society of Biocatalysis and Agricultural Biotechnology (ISBAB). The journal publishes high quality articles especially in the science and technology of biocatalysis, bioprocesses, agricultural biotechnology, biomedical biotechnology, and, if appropriate, from other related areas of biotechnology. The journal will publish peer-reviewed basic and applied research papers, authoritative reviews, and feature articles. The scope of the journal encompasses the research, industrial, and commercial aspects of biotechnology, including the areas of: biocatalysis; bioprocesses; food and agriculture; genetic engineering; molecular biology; healthcare and pharmaceuticals; biofuels; genomics; nanotechnology; environment and biodiversity; and bioremediation.Types of papers published are: Full-length original research papers; Short communications; Review articles; Letters to the Editor.

Contribute to the development of Food Science and Technology for the benefit of society, publishing the results of original research.
For over 120 years, the British Food Journal (BFJ) continues to be highly respected worldwide for its broad and unique interdisciplinary coverage of the latest food-related double blind peer-reviewed research. It links all sectors of this dynamic industry, keeping abreast of emerging trends, topical and controversial issues and informing and stimulating debate.
From its first volume in 1960, British Poultry Science has been a leading international journal for poultry scientists and advisers to the poultry industry throughout the world.Over 60% of the independently refereed papers published originate outside the UK. Most typically they report the results of biological studies with an experimental approach which either make an original contribution to fundamental science or are of obvious application to the industry. Subjects which are covered include: anatomy, embryology, biochemistry, biophysics, physiology, reproduction and genetics, behaviour, microbiology, endocrinology, nutrition, environmental science, food science, feeding stuffs and feeding, management and housing welfare, breeding, hatching, poultry meat and egg yields and quality.Papers that adopt a modelling approach or describe the scientific background to new equipment or apparatus directly relevant to the industry are also published. The journal also features rapid publication of Short Communications. Summaries of papers presented at the Spring Meeting of the UK Branch of the WPSA are now published in British Poultry Abstracts. British Poultry Science Travel Grants British Poultry Science is also a recognised charity and the terms of the foundation allow for support in the way of travel grants to conferences and study courses for Poultry Scientists (especially those starting on their careers). Also any project advancing Poultry Science can be considered. Details from bps@tandf.co.uk. Comprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety (CRFSFS) is one of the peer-reviewed on-line journals of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). It has been published quarterly since 2002 (www.ift.org). Review papers provide in-depth coverage of a narrowly defined topic on any food science or food safety aspect, including nutrition, engineering, microbiology, sensory evaluation, physiology, genetics, economics, regulations, and history. A typical review embodies careful assessment of all pertinent studies (weaknesses, strengths, discrepancies in findings) so that insightful, integrative interpretations, summaries, and conclusions are presented. For either an unsolicited or an invited manuscript authors should submit to the Scientific Editor a suitable title, a brief outline, and a short statement describing the importance of the topic and how the presentation will advance food science and food technology. AIM of IFT Peer-Reviewed Publications The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), the professional society of food science and technology, is committed to the continued improvement and accessibility of its peer-reviewed journals. Collectively, the IFT believes that peer-reviewed journals must have a high priority in any scientific society, and specifically for IFT in order for the society to remain a credible source of science-based information. IFT publishes scientific journals to provide its members and the larger scientific community with scientific information that is important and of current interest. This is done in accord with the highest standards of professional ethics. Research papers serve to convey the results of original work that has a clear relationship to human foods or the teaching of food science. Review papers serve to convey in-depth interpretive coverage of topics of current importance. Acceptability of articles for publication is carefully considered, with quality of the science, appropriateness, and importance weighing heavily in the final decision.
