The mission of the Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics is to publish creative and scholarly economic studies in agriculture, natural resources, and related areas. Manuscripts dealing with the economics of food and agriculture, natural resources and the environment, human resources, and rural development issues are especially encouraged. The Journal provides a forum for topics of interest to those performing economic research as well as to those involved with economic policy and education. Submission of comments on articles previously published in the Journal is welcomed.

The journal publishes original articles by international scientists on the progress of research in animal production, quantitative genetics, biology, and evolution of domestic animals. Researchers, teachers, and the animal breeding industry will find the reports of interest. Book reviews appear in many issues. A supplemental series Advances in Animal Breeding and Genetics/Fortschritte in der Tierzuchtung und Zuchtungsbiologie is published at irregular intervals. Fields of interest: Theoretical and applied animal breeding and related fields.

The Journal of Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition publishes original papers on research in the fields of animal physiology, physiology and biochemistry of nutrition, animal nutrition, feed technology, and feed preservation. The journal is a forum for presenting articles on basic and applied research, thus making new findings, methods, and techniques easily accessible and applicable in practice. Reviews of the most important specialized literature are also included. A supplemental series Advances in Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition is published at irregular intervals. Fields of interest: Basic research in the fields of animal physiology; physiology, chemistry, biochemistry and molecular biology of nutrition, animal nutrition, feed technology, and feed preservation.

Purpose and scope:The mission of the American Society of Animal Science (ASAS) is to foster communication and collaboration among individuals and organizations associated with animal science research, education, industry, or administration. ±To discover, disseminate and apply knowledge for sustainable use of animals for food and other human needs.± The Journal of Animal Science, which is published monthly by ASAS, accepts manuscripts presenting information for publication with this mission in mind. Articles published in JAS encompass a broad range of research topics in animal production and fundamental aspects of genetics, nutrition, physiology, and preparation and utilization of animal products. Articles typically report research with beef cattle, companion animals, goats, horses, pigs, and sheep; however, studies involving other farm animals, aquatic and wildlife species, and laboratory animal species that address fundamental questions related to livestock and companion animal biology will be considered for publication. Manuscripts that report research on production issues in animals other than those constituting the main focus of the journal should be submitted to other journals. .

Journal of Applied Animal Research (JAAR) accepts manuscripts related to animal production and fundamental aspects of genetics, nutrition, physiology, reproduction, immunology, pathology and animal products. Papers on cows and dairy cattle, small ruminants, horses, pigs and companion animals will be very welcome, as well as research involving other farm animals, aquatic and wildlife species. In addition, manuscripts involving research in other species that is directly related to animal production will be considered for publication. The Journal of Applied Animal Welfare Science (JAAWS) publishes reports and articles on methods of experimentation, husbandry, and care that demonstrably enhance the welfare of nonhuman animals on farms, in laboratories, in wildlife/zoo settings, and as companions. JAAWS is a joint project of The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and Society & Animals Forum (formerly PSYETA). Each issue includes several reports covering scientific experiments or demonstrations that present evidence relating to issues of applied animal welfare science. The editors also encourage submission of brief scientific reports based on less formal studies and observations on the ground, as well as of literature reviews and conference reports. JAAWS also publishes feature articles that present particularly significant or provocative contributions to our understanding of animal welfare--new empirical data or reevaluations of available data, or conceptual or theoretical analysis. These feature articles are accompanied by several invited commentaries that critically discuss the contribution--particularly in regard to its implications for animal welfare. All submitted manuscripts are peer-reviewed by a panel of section editors who oversee an even more complete review by a distinguished board of editors. The Journal of Applied Poultry Research (JAPR) provides practical, reliable, and timely information to those whose livelihood is derived from the commercial production of poultry and those whose research benefits this sector. This journal addresses topics of near-term application based on studies and criticial observations, encourages scientific approaches to practical problem solving, and presents information that is comprehensible to a broad readership. JAPR publishes original research reports, field reports, and reviews on breeding, hatching, health and disease, layer management, meat bird processing and products, meat bird management, microbiology, food safety, nutrition, environment, sanitation, welfare and economics.

The Journal of Asia-Pacific Biodiversity (previous title was Journal of Korean Nature) is an official journal of National Science Museum of Korea (NSMK) and Korea National Arboretum (KNA).

The scope of journal is wide and multidisciplinary that publishes original research papers, review articles, as well as conceptual, technical and methodological papers on all aspects of biological diversity-its description, analysis and conservation, and its application by humankind. This wide and multidisciplinary journal aims to provide both scientists and practitioners in conservation theory, policy and management with comprehensive and applicable information.

Since its inception in 1970 by the Scandinavian Ornitholists´ Union, the journal Ornis Scandinavica gradually became a truly international publication attracting subscribers and contributors from all over the world. To endorse this global perspective, in 1994 the journal´s name was was changed to 'Journal of Avian Biology'. Currently, there are 6 issues/year. The print run is about 600 pages per annum. Journal of Avian Biology publishes empirical and theoretical research in areas of ornithology, with an emphasis on behavioural ecology and evolution. Preferably, papers should test hypothesis, or explore new ground. Purely descriptive studies are accepted only when they contain important new information that give rise to new questions and/or open up new ground. Social change within the countries of Central Europe has brought major changes in agriculture. The abandonment of central planning and the introduction of the open market have created a need for the quickest possible exchange of knowledge. All countries in transition have similar problems; so a logical step is to create a shared journal. The beginning of a new millennium and the spreading of new electronic technologies creates new fields of publishing and easier access to knowledge from remote places. Besides a need for knowledge, there is a need to share problems and solutions with our neighbours but it is also equally important to keep and develop our national languages and identities. We have tried to combine such contradictory problems in one unifying electronic agricultural journal for Central and Eastern Europe. Not less important intention is to ease the demand on the present West European journals in agriculture, and to give opportunity and encouragement to Central European scientists to publish faster. The multilingual strategy of the journal accepts the world intention to preserve and support the development of national languages. The Journal publishes original articles, rapid communication of information and proceedings of scientific meetings in English, Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Hungarian, Romanian, Slovak and Slovenian.

The Journal of Comparative Physiology A presents original articles and short reviews that add to understanding of mechanisms of physiology, at the organismic, cellular or molecular levels of organization. Topics include Neurobiology, Neuroethology, Sensory physiology, Sensory ecology, Physiological basis of behavior, Hormonal control of behavior, Communication, Orientation, Locomotion, Functional neuroanatomy and more. The Journal of Comparative Physiology B publishes peer-reviewed original articles and reviews on the comparative physiology of invertebrate and vertebrate animals. Special emphasis is placed on integrative studies that elucidate mechanisms at the whole-animal, organ, tissue, cellular and/or molecular levels. Review papers report on the current state of knowledge in an area of comparative physiology, and directions in which future research is needed.Aspects of particular interest include: molecular and endocrine control of metabolism; membrane transport and nutrient absorption; respiration and gas exchange; circulation and body fluids; energy and temperature relations; muscle and exercise physiology; energetics and endocrinology of reproduction; evolutionary aspects of physiology, and more.
