The work of publishing houses like Freund Publishing house ltd, an Israel publishing house, is quite complicated. The editor chooses from the "manuscripts" submitted to the publishing house, previously published works, works published in other languages, or command works, works that fit the editorial line of its collections. After any corrections, it shall communicate the text to a printer in suitable technical characteristics of the book and the number of copies to print.

Semiotica, the Journal of the International Association for Semiotic Studies, was founded in 1969 and appears in five volumes of four issues per year, in two languages (English and French), and occasionally in German.Semiotica features articles reporting results of research in all branches of semiotic studies, in-depth reviews of selected current literature in the field, and occasional guest editorials and reports. Starting in 2001 under the new editorship of Manfred Krifka (Humboldt University, Berlin), THEORETICAL LINGUISTICS has appeared as an open peer review journal. Each issue contains one long target article about a topic of general linguistic interest, together with several shorter reactions, comments and reflections on it. We hope that this format stimulates discussion in linguistics and adjacent fields of study, in particular across schools of different theoretical orientations.

Die Zeitschrift für Soziologie ist eine Zeitschrift für das gesamte Fach. Sie veröffentlicht Beiträge aus allen Bereichen der Soziologie. Dies bezieht sich sowohl auf die Vielfalt der Forschungsgebiete als auch auf die Pluralität von Schulen.In den Worten der Gründungsherausgeber von 1971: "Diese Zeitschrift wird... als ein repräsentatives Organ der deutschsprachigen Soziologie konzipiert, das quer zu den vorhandenen theoretischen Orientierungen und substantiellen Interessensgebieten allen Soziologen dieses Sprachraums offenstehen und die Kommunikation zwischen ihnen... fördern soll. Der Titel 'Zeitschrift für Soziologie' soll eben dieser programmatischen Absicht Ausdruck verleihen.".
