Mental Health and Physical Activity

ISSN: 1755-2966eISSN: 1878-0199

Mental Health and Physical Activity is an international forum for scholarly reports on any aspect of relevance to advancing our understanding of the relationship between mental health and physical activity. Manuscripts will be considered for publication which deal with high quality research, comprehensive research reviews, and critical reflection of applied or research issues. The journal is open to the use of diverse methodological approaches. Reports of practice will need to demonstrate academic rigour, preferably through analysis of programme effectiveness, and go beyond mere description. The aims of Mental Health and Physical Activity are:(1) To foster the inter-disciplinary development and understanding of the mental health and physical activity field; (2) To develop research designs and methods to advance our understanding; (3) To promote the publication of high quality research on the effects of physical activity (interventions and a single session) on a wide range of dimensions of mental health and psychological well-being (e.g., depression, anxiety and stress responses, mood, cognitive functioning and neurological disorders, such as dementia, self-esteem and related constructs, psychological aspects of quality of life among people with physical and mental illness, sleep, addictive disorders, eating disorders), from both efficacy and effectiveness trials; (4) To promote high quality research on the biophysical and psychosocial mechanisms involved to help our understanding of the link between physical activity and mental health, and guide intervention development; (5) To provide an evidence-based source for professionals working in the field of mental health and a forum to consider service delivery issues.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Meta Gene

eISSN: 2214-5400

Meta Gene publishes meta-analysis, polymorphism and population study papers that are relevant to both human and non-human species. Examples include but are not limited to:(Relevant to human specimens):Meta-Analysis Papers - statistical reviews of the published literature of human genetic variation (typically linked to medical conditionals and/or congenital diseases)Genome Wide Association Studies (GWAS) - examination of large patient cohorts to identify common genetic factors that influence health and diseaseHuman Genetics Papers - original studies describing new data on genetic variation in smaller patient populationsGenetic Case Reports - short communications describing novel and in formative genetic mutations or chromosomal aberrations (e.g., probands) in very small demographic groups (e.g., family or unique ethnic group).(Relevant to non-human specimens):Small Genome Papers - Analysis of genetic variation in organelle genomes (e.g., mitochondrial DNA)Microbiota Papers - Analysis of microbiological variation through analysis of DNA sequencing in different biological environmentsEcological Diversity Papers - Geographical distribution of genetic diversity of zoological or botanical species.

Metabolic Engineering

ISSN: 1096-7176eISSN: 1096-7184

Aims and Scope:Metabolic Engineering (MBE) is devoted to the publication of original research papers on the directed modulation of metabolic pathways for metabolite over production or the improvement of cellular properties. Papers describing native pathway engineering and synthesis of heterologous pathways for converting microorganisms into microbial cell factories are also welcome.Experimental, computational, and modelling approaches for the elucidation of metabolic pathways and their manipulation by genetic, media, or other environmental means are presented. Efficient probing of metabolic pathways requires the application of appropriate methods from molecular biology and biochemistry, along with modeling and data analysis techniques from engineering. MBE provides a forum for communicating such interdisciplinary research, as well as relevant results in the constituent areas of biochemistry, molecular biology, applied microbiology, cellular physiology, cellular nutrition in health and disease, and biochemical engineering.Types of papers:Original Research Papers, Review Papers.

Metabolic Engineering Communications

ISSN: 2214-0301eISSN: 2214-0301
DOAJ Logo

Metabolic Engineering Communications is devoted to publishing original research in the areas of metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, computational biology and systems biology for problems related to metabolism and the engineering of metabolism for the production of fuels, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. The journal will carry articles on the design, construction, and analysis of biological systems ranging from pathway components to biological complexes and genomes (including genomic, analytical and bioinformatics methods) in suitable host cells to allow them to produce novel compounds of industrial and medical interest. Demonstrations of regulatory designs and synthetic circuits that alter the performance of biochemical pathways and cellular processes will also be presented. Metabolic Engineering Communications complements the full journal through the publication of articles that are shorter, or describe key elements of larger metabolic engineering efforts, than those published in the full journal while similarly impacting the development of the field.
Types of papers: Short Papers, Priority Communications, and Short Opinion Pieces
