The Middle East at its location at the intersection of three zoogeographic regions endows a vast landscape with a striking diversity of habitats and fauna and flora with many endemic species. Zoology in the Middle East is the only scientific journal covering the whole range of zoology in this unique region of the world and helps further the understanding of the Middle East as a zoogeographical unit. The journal aims at improving the interchange of knowledge and ideas between specialists on different subjects and taxa.

The journal Zoomorphology publishes original research papers based on morphological investigation of invertebrates and vertebrates and reviews designed as comparative surveys summarizing current knowledge from an evolutionary perspective. Coverage spans the macroscopic, microscopic and ultrastructural levels, including embryological studies. Zoosystema est une revue consacrée à l'inventaire, l'analyse et l'interprétation de la biodiversité animale. Elle publie, en français ou en anglais, des résultats originaux de recherche en zoologie, particulièrement en systématique et domaines associés : morphologie comparative, fonctionnelle et évolutive ; phylogénie ; biogéographie ; taxinomie et nomenclature, etc.Zoosystema fait suite depuis 1997 au Bulletin du Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, section A, Zoologie.

Zootaxa is a peer-reviewed international journal for rapid publication of high quality papers on any aspect of systematic zoology, with a preference for large taxonomic works such as monographs and revisions. Zootaxa considers papers on all animal taxa, both living and fossil, and especially encourages descriptions of new taxa. All types of taxonomic papers are considered, including theories and methods of systematics and phylogeny, taxonomic monographs, revisions and reviews, catalogues/checklists, biographies and bibliographies, identification guides, analysis of characters, phylogenetic relationships and zoogeographical patterns of distribution, descriptions of taxa, and nomenclature. Open access publishing option is strongly encouraged for authors with research grants and other funds. For those without grants/funds, all accepted manuscripts will be published but access is secured for subscribers only. All manuscripts will be subjected to peer review before acceptance.
