Plasmonics publishes peer-reviewed articles that both advance and report on the knowledge and practice of the interactions of free-metal electrons, Plasmons. Coverage includes theory, physics, and applications of surface plasmons in metals, and rapidly emerging areas of nanotechnology, biophotonics, sensing, biochemistry and medicine. The journal covers the theory, synthesis and optical properties of noble metal nanostructures, patterned surfaces, continuous or grated surfaces and devices. Power Technology and Engineering publishes articles selected from the Russian journals Gidrotekhnicheskoe Stroitel’stvo (Hydrotechnical Construction) and Elektricheskie Stantsii (Electrical Power Stations). Articles are selected on the basis of their scientific and technical quality, their focus on the above themes, and the significance to a worldwide audience of this leading Russian research and practice. Power Technology and Engineering is a continuation of the Kluwer/Consultants Bureau journal Hydrotechnical Construction, which was a translation of Gidrotekhnicheskoe Stroitel’stvo exclusively. The change improves the scope of the journal and makes two valuable sources of Russian research available internationally. Each annual volume of Power Technology and Engineering will contain six issues. Volume 36 (2002) is to be published in July–December 2002, following completion of Volume 35 of Hydrotechnical Construction, which was published from July 2001 to June 2002. From Volume 37 (2003) Power Technology and Engineering will be published bimonthly on a calendar year (January to December) basis.

Authors are expected to submit manuscripts dealing with all aspects of probiotics and antimicrobial peptides, from their discovery and understanding mechanisms of action to biophysical experiments/simulations that clarify mechanisms of action on molecular level, testing pharmacological profiles (activity and toxicity) and design of novel antimicrobial proteins and/or probiotic-containing or probiotic-derived products with therapeutic, food or consumer health formulation potential.
