Physics Procedia

ISSN: 1875-3892
What is Physics Procedia?
Launched in January 2008, Physics Procedia is an e-only and open access product focusing entirely on publishing conference proceedings. Physics Procedia enables fast dissemination so conference delegates can publish their papers in a dedicated online issue on http://www.sciencedirect.com/ScienceDirect, which is then made freely available worldwide. Physics Procedia will cover proceedings in all topics in Physics with the exception of high energy physics, as our journal Nuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements http://www.elsevier.com/locate/npbps is the primary outlet for proceedings in this area. The journal is indexed in Scopus, the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature.

Copyright information
For authors publishing in Physics Procedia, accepted manuscript will be governed by CC BY-NC-ND. For further details see our copyright information. How are conferences evaluated for inclusion in Physics Procedia?
Conference proceedings are accepted for publication in Physics Procedia based on suitability of scope and are required to meet certain criteria, including the assurance that all papers are original, will be subject to peer review and will not be published elsewhere. Elsevier will evaluate all proposals on the basis of key information related to the conference provided by the organizers, for example, the conference website, programme, supporting organization and contact details of the committee and keynote speakers. Elsevier may make contact with members of the committee and keynote speakers to obtain further information about the conference during the evaluation process.

What is the process for submitting conference proceedings to Physics Procedia?
Proposals should be prepared using the template /inca/publications/misc/PHPRO Proposal Template.dochere and sent to:

Simone Munao
Interim Publisher
s.munao@elsevier.com

Please note that we do not accept proposals from individual authors for Procedia titles.

What does Physics Procedia offer authors and conferences organizers?
Physics Procedia offers a single, highly recognized platform where conference papers can be hosted and accessed by millions of researchers. Authors then know where to go to keep abreast of the latest developments in their field. All proceedings appear online, on Science Direct, within 8 weeks of acceptance of the final manuscripts via the conference organizer and are freely available to all users. Physics Procedia offers authors and conference organizers a fast and cost effective way to provide maximum exposure for their papers.

Templates (both Latex and Word) are provided to assist in the publication and the final online papers contain linked references, XML versions and DOI numbers.

Why should conference organizers choose Physics Procedia?
Unlike regular journals, there is no limit to the amount of papers a Physics Procedia issue can contain and pricing is affordable, clear and transparent. Physics Procedia offers immediate access for all, with papers online within 8 weeks of acceptance, and open access providing maximum exposure for individual papers and the related conference. Organizers are being credited on the actual issue and are fully responsible for quality control, the review process and the content of individual conference papers.

What are the costs associated with Physics Procedia?
There is an agreed fee, based on the size of the proceedings, which includes online publication on http://www.sciencedirect.com/ScienceDirect and free access after acceptance. The agreement must hold an estimated number of submissions. Beyond the agreed number an extra cost is levied.
In addition to the online version there is the possibility to purchase paper copies, CD-ROMs and USB sticks. Moreover, interactive media possibilities such as webcasts and web seminars can be acquired for extra exposure both before and after the conference.

Can Physics Procedia be sponsored?
We are open to discussing sponsoring possibilities at all times. Sponsors can include funding bodies, government agencies and/or industry. Benefits to sponsors include visibility amongst a scientific audience and the opportunity to communicate messages via a peer-reviewed platform. Benefits to authors and conference organizers are the further dissemination of material to an international audience and reduced costs to the overall conference budget.

Physics Reports

ISSN: 0370-1573

Physics Reports keeps the active physicist up-to-date on developments in a wide range of topics by publishing timely reviews which are more extensive than just literature surveys but normally less than a full monograph. Each Report deals with one specific subject. These reviews are specialist in nature but contain enough introductory material to make the main points intelligible to a non-specialist. The reader will not only be able to distinguish important developments and trends but will also find a sufficient number of references to the original literature.Submission of articles to Physics Reports is by invitation only; unsolicited submissions cannot be accepted. Should you feel that you have a topic suitable for publication in one of the sections in this journal, please contact the appropriate editor (see Editorial Board) with a proposal of no more than 1000 words.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Physics of Life Reviews

ISSN: 1571-0645eISSN: 1873-1457

Physics of Life Reviews is an international journal appearing quarterly, that publishes review articles on physics of living systems, complex phenomena in biological systems, and related fields of artificial life, robotics, mathematical bio-semiotics, and artificial intelligent systems. This journal is a unifying force, going across the barriers between disciplines, addressing all living systems from molecules to populations and from genetics to mind and artificial systems modeling these phenomena. The journal invites reviews from actively working researchers, which are broad in scope, critical, accessible to our wide readership and addresses sometimes controversial accounts of recent progress and problems.Physics of Life Reviews intends to keep the active researcher abreast of developments on a wide range of topics by publishing timely reviews, which are more than mere literature surveys but normally less than a full monograph. Although most of the reviews will be of a specialist nature, each review should contain enough introductory material to make the main points intelligible to a non-specialist and to inspire and facilitate interdisiplinary research. The reviews should address in a clear way the most important conceptual issues in a field, review existing theories and methods with their achievements and drawbacks or difficulties versus the issues, unsolved problems addressed by a new theory, method, or approach, and why a significant progress is achieved or expected. Future research directions, remaining unsolved problems, and experimental confirmations or controversies should also be addressed.

Elsevier offers 700 MB of space to be used for each article for additional material. Each file has a suggested size limit of 50 MB, but larger files are possible (in this case please contact the Managing Editor).Design Studies and Concept papers for new experiments or describing ideas for new experiments. In particular, experimental set up of the next generation of very large Dark Matter direct and indirect detectors, new underground laboratories for the study of Dark Matter, and new ground based or space based experiments on Dark Energy are particularly welcome.
